The quest for the Cup gets under way

September 26, 2014

The shadows were getting longer and the pressure was mounting. Martin Kaymer seemingly calm and collected stepped up to that epic putt – the putt that ensured the Samuel Ryder Trophy’s safe return to European soil in the fall of 2012. The putt dropped, centre-cut, and the name Martin Kaymer was forever engraved in the rich history surrounding this bi-annual contest amongst continents.

Two years has passed, but in the early hours of today, it felt like only yesterday that the miracle at Medinah was completed. The stage was set – and a magnificent stage it was – under clear blue skies in Scotland – the game’s cradle. Martin Kaymer teams up with Danish stalwart Thomas Bjørn and they appear to be a formidable pairing, sure to make life tough for Americans Rickie Fowler and Jimmy Walker.

We wish the teams well – and we will not miss a shot!
