A Welcome Return to the Winner’s Circle!

November 11th, 2012

Henrik Stenson emerged victorious in the second oldest open championship in the world, the South African Open (first played in 1893), at Serengeti Golf Club.

Henrik took a three shot lead into the last round but opened up the door at the ninth where he found the water off the tee. The home hope George Coetzee challenged, but in the end Henrik proved the stronger and eventually became only the eighth foreigner to land the title.

This was Henrik’s 12th win worldwide, solidifying his status as the most successful Swedish male professional golfer in history.
